DeepDrive wins large-scale series nomination from leading global OEM and announces expansion to China Press Release
MUNICH, October 8th, 2026 – DeepDrive, high-tech developer of a new generation of electric drive systems, today announced the nomination as a large-series supplier for a leading global vehicle manufacturer. Start of production is set for 2028.
This announcement marks a structural transition from technology development to series production. Since founding, DeepDrive has developed, patented, and validated its Dual Rotor, Radial Flux topology across all three motor applications: generator, in-wheel drive, and central drive. The architecture, in which the stator is enclosed between an inner and an outer rotor, delivers the highest torque density at the lowest weight and cost among available motor architectures. Now, validation is complete, and DeepDrive is scaling its high-volume production facilities to serve this and a number of additional customers worldwide.
In addition, DeepDrive launches its global expansion with a first presence in China, one of the world’s largest EV markets. A dedicated local team in Shanghai leads sales and execution for the Chinese market, embedded within DeepDrive’s global engineering and manufacturing organisation. Production is built local for local: wherever customers are, DeepDrive builds.
Felix Poernbacher, CEO and Co-Founder at DeepDrive:
„Building the global standard electric drive for automotive and beyond has been our goal since day one. This nomination is the first step toward reaching it, and a testament to what our team has achieved: delivering across technology, validation, and execution on every front, in remarkable time. Expanding to China in parallel is the next logical step. One of the most dynamic automotive markets in the world, and the right place to begin our global expansion.“
„Getting a new motor architecture to series production is where most deep-tech companies fail. The gap between a validated technology and industrialised, high-volume manufacturing is enormous. DeepDrive stands out by having built an organisation and a technology stack that are genuinely ready for high-volume production, prepared with professionalism and rigour across every dimension. Together we will deliver this and many more projects, in cost, quality, and time, all around the world.“
