DeepDrive, the Munich – based electric motor company, today announces its expansion into the robotics industry. This step builds on the company’s progress in automotive: a series nomination from a leading global OEM, active development programmes with additional vehicle manufacturers worldwide, and a series-ready motor portfolio that has proven its performance and cost advantage under demanding automotive conditions.

Robotics is the next logical market. DeepDrive’s Dual Rotor, Radial Flux Motor offers high est torque density at lowest cost and weight, addressing key performance requirements in robotics. Where other motor architectures trade off one against another, the Dual Rotor, Radial Flux architecture resolves the trade – off through geometry: the motor encloses a stator between an inner and an outer rotor, maximising active surface area for torque generation without adding volume, weight, or cost.

What makes DeepDrive’s entry into robotics distinct is the position it brings. The robotics market today presents a choice: established industrial suppliers with production scale but limited agility, or technology startups with speed but no production cred entials. DeepDrive combines the strengths of both. It is the company that has developed automotive – grade quality systems, prepared for high – volume manufacturing, and demonstrated a focus on cost efficiency and that can still move at startup speed. That combination positions DeepDrive to address the demanding performance, cost, and manufacturing requirements of the robotics market.

The timing is deliberate. The window of opportunity in robotics is open now, driven by advances in robotics, industrial automation, and the broader electrification of motion across industries.

»Building the standard electric drive for automotive and beyond has been our goal since we started DeepDrive,« says Felix Poernbacher, Co-CEO of DeepDrive. »Automotive gave us something no shortcut can replace: five years of engineering against the toughest quality and cost benchmarks in the world. That foundation is exactly what robotics manufacturers need from a drive supplier, and it is what we bring. We can move quickly while bring ing the same engineering rigor and commitment to execution to robotics, because we believe now is the right moment to enter this market.«

»What DeepDrive has done in automotive is the hard part« says Markus Buergin, Partner at Bain & Company and DeepDrive advisor. »Scaling that same technology into robotics is exactly the kind of adjacent expansion that creates disproportionate value – DeepDrive is not starting over, DeepDrive applies a validated foundation to a market that desperately needs it.«

DeepDrive has already taken the first concrete steps. The company has adapted its motor technology for robotic actuator applications, developed initial samples, and received significant inbound inter est from robotics manufacturers worldwide. With that groundwork in place, DeepDrive is now positioned to expand its presence in the robotics market as demand grows. The robotics expansion is the first of multiple industries DeepDrive is targeting beyond automotive, driven by the ambition to define the standard electric drive for every industry that moves.
